Kittens are cute and cuddly, but they grow up into cats, and then people don't want them any more.

Some people drown the kittens, or put them in a sack and throw it out of their car so that they die slowly.

Some people let them go, and they starve, or kill birds to survive, or get run over.

Some people give their unwanted dogs or cats to the SPCA and hope someone else will take them - but there are thousands more cats and dogs born than there are homes to take them.

So what really happens to them is they are killed. Every day, people all over the world who love animals and work for agencies like the SPCA, have to kill dogs and cats that nobody wants. Then they trash the bodies, like those on the left.

If people, when they bought a pet, paid for a little operation that means they can't have babies, it would mean that these unwanted cats and dogs would not be born in the first place. Neutering your pet means they are happier - they don't mind not having babies - they aren't people!
