Daibutsu (Great Buddha) Our Discovery of Japan And Its Culture Our daughter is teaching English in Japan during 2001-2002, so we took advantage of this to visit her from Dec.22nd to Jan.2nd and stay in her home (in Katsutadai neighbourhood, Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture to be more precise) and discover the Japanese culture. Since Jackie has become quite fluent in Japanese, and has adopted a Japanese lifestyle, this was a unique opportunity to really start to understand a people very different from the European backgrounds with which we are familiar.
