The hat is very dusty and tatty. It is made of smooth black velvet. It has squared blue patches with purple thread. The hat is pointed with glow in the dark stars and half-moons. The rounded bottom has got a piece of twisted wire around it.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The hat's job is to sort all the first years into the different houses... It goes deep into your brain and sees all your knowledge and then tells you your house that you should be in.

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE IT TO SORT?

The sorting hat would sort all of my sister's toys out. The way I would like it is all the cars and Barbies in to seperate boxes. The next thing is to sort my brother's mind out. I would like it three quarters good and one quarter bad and sort out his muddled up mouth.

The colour of the magic sorting hat is purple and dark with bright coloured stars. It is dirty and rough. At the bottom the shape is a 2D shape, a circle. When it talks it rips. The hat is pointed and sharp with a big mouth... The hat can not be washed or it will not sort out anything.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The magic sorting hat's job is to sort out people's houses at Hogwarts. It can read your mind and know your knowledge and character so for example if you were bad and sneaky you would be in Slytherin.

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE IT TO SORT?

I will use the magic sorting hat to sort out my future and put my life in sections so that I do different things on each day. For example when I have to do my homework for Monday on a Sunday the hat will have sorted out the job I need to do for the next day. I want it to sort out my room and put everything in their proper places, for example I have been in bed and it will sort out the covers and pillows.
