How
do you get Meningococcal B?
|
Meningococcal disease can easily be passed from one person to
another.
Around one in five people carry meningococcal bacteria in their
nose and throat without getting sick.
The bacteria can be spread through close contact such as:
- living in the same household
- sharing food and drink
- kissing
- coughing and sneezing.
Remember, it is caused by a bacteria that many people have
without getting sick. It is not a virus, like a cold or
flu.
