In Auckland, we have a lot of sun. The sun is very hot here, and we have to be careful to protect our skin, so we don't get sun burn.

The sun is our nearest star. The earth goes round the sun once every year. The earth also turns around to face the sun to make the day.

When it turns away from the sun it makes night time. You can't see the sun at night, but it is still there, on the other side of the earth.
