Grass Bend
- as far as being secure this may not be the best knot. However, when tying flat materials like seat belts or belts this may be the best option. This may then become the only useful knot in that situation. As you see in the diagram, just loop the two pieces together on each other and pull together. Not much to it but again not many uses for it either.
Sheet Bend
- this is one of those basic knots you should remember forever. It is good for tying one rope to the middle of another rope or end to end. This is strong, simple and easy to tie. This one you can definitely trust in the same way as the Clove Hitch or Bowline. IMPORTANT: the Double Sheet Bend is more secure and probably more trustworthy as well.
